Assembly Yard Wedding 2021

Assembly Yard wedding Eloise and Liam 2021

Eloise and Liam were referred to my business via Wilde Wedding Management. They lived up in the Karratha at the time of them booking me to be the photographer, so I never got to meet them until later.

After they moved back to Perth, my first time meeting them was during a pre-wedding session with their 3 month old daughter. I could tell that they cared a lot about each other and their daughter was greatly loved. I got some amazing photos during the pre-wedding session and knew the wedding photos would be even better.

The Assembly Yard is a relatively new venue in the Perth wedding scene, one which I had never photographed a wedding at before.

I had arranged with Kimberly from Wilde Wedding Management to go and view a wedding she had setup at Assembly Yard. I instantly liked the feel of the place as being different and more relaxed than the usual wedding venues in Perth.

Having a wedding at the Assembly Yard can be done however you like to fit your style and budget, it’s a blank canvas for you or your wedding planner to create some magic with.

You will need to arrange your own catering or food trucks at this venue, which is a very popular option at weddings now.

The warehouse is 215,m2 which includes a store room to hide away anything that needs to be out of sight for the wedding ceremony and reception.

The outdoor area at the Assembly Yard is 1500,m2 of landscaped gardens and lawn with a 500,m2 section of crushed limestone.

Eloise and Liam loved the venue and needed to find wedding suppliers to help fit with their dream wedding plans.

The day started with photos of the groom and his groomsmen in a Fremantle hotel, Liam and the boys were very relaxed when I arrived. After taking the photos of the boys I headed off to the Brides location where she was getting ready. Eloise and the bridesmaids were great fun and I could tell this was going to be a fun day.

Eloise arrived at the Assembly Yard in a classic 50’s American Chevy Bel Air and the bridesmaids in a Chevy Impala. The cars were just amazing, what a way to turn up to your wedding in these beautiful cars.

The wedding ceremony was conducted by Anne Miller who is one of Perth best marriage celebrants.

After the ceremony we did the more formal photos of the day with family and friends, before heading off to take the wedding party photos.

As I had never done a wedding at the Assembly Yard I was thinking we should head into Fremantle when I first booked with them. Eloise and Liam decided to just do photos over the road at Booyeembara Park which was actually a great idea. The park was so close and just made the whole wedding experience for the couple and the bridal party more relaxed and fun.

After the photos were done, the entrance to the reception was next which was fun as one bridesmaids was carry a groomsman on her back with him pretending to be a jockey. It was a bit of a in joke as he was not very good at gambling on the horses, and had lost a bit of money on them that morning.

The catering was done by Locale Kitchen, with shared plates on the tables, I really enjoyed the food I had and so did the guests. The tables and chairs were supplied by Elegant Chair Events which looked amazing when setup for the 100 Guests with all the decorations.

After the speeches there was a surprise Haka that was great to watch before the bride and groom headed outside to do the first dance.

Liam took over from Eloise’s father after he danced with her for the father daughter dance. Everyone joined in for a dance with the dance floor being popular with the tunes played by the band.

The Assembly Yard is a great wedding venue and I would recommend it if you wanted a more relaxed feel to your wedding. Go look at this venue it might just surprise you, I know I was.
